We have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Field Engineer, the successful candidate may reside in either Tipp City or Columbus, OH.
Accountabilities
Advanced field testing and Training (40%)
Testing HV electrical equipment
Protection relays
Transformers
Circuit breakers
MV conductors
Ground systems
Reading and interpreting electrical test results
Diagnosing and trouble-shooting electrical systems up to 345kV
Extensive knowledge in electrical theory and application
Understanding and proficiency in protection relays and design
Power Systems Engineering\Analysis (10%)
Perform load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash and equipment evaluation studies
Perform motor starting, transient studies, and harmonic analysis
Analyze study results
Technical Report Management (10%)
Proficient in analyzing test data and recognizing deficiencies
Reporting deficiencies to the customer and the sales staff to ensure corrections are completed in a timely manner
Education of customer on deficiencies and possible corrections
Advanced Technical support and project assistance (10%)
Test equipment management (5%)
Research new equipment
Continued education on the latest technology
Attend conferences or seminars as well as manufacturer to see new equipment
Assist in planning of new purchase of test equipment for all branches based on budget
Create “case studies” to be used in quarterly newsletter (5%)
Train and mentor new field service engineers and assist in development of field technicians (10%)
Continuous education of new technicians to grow the company
Assist in designing new training courses for company policy
Study, apply and pass the NETA examinations as requested by company
Assist in the training and mentoring of other technicians to ensure higher success rate on NETA exams
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer or progressing engineer (FE or EIT) Strongly Preferred
Extensive knowledge and experience in the industrial electrical field
NFPA70E design engineering
Knowledge and experience in SKM software and design
Minimum of (5) years in field service in the Industrial Electrical field
Experience in the electrical testing and troubleshooting of systems up to 138kV
Proficient in schematic, one line and three-line drawings
Proficient in substation environment safety protocols
