Description

Working out of our Surrey office, reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Project Manager will be accountable for leading projects, building and maintaining project relationships, and leading Field Service Technicians through projects. This position will work closely with the Field Service Manager to support Lower Mainland projects and people; ultimately creating exceptional client experiences through the completion of Field Services projects.

Accountabilities

Coordination of Vancouver Area Project Management

  • Oversee all aspects of the projects

  • Plan resources effectively and work collaboratively with other regions to share resources

  • Ensure proper, complete preparation and execution of scheduled work

  • Preparation of status and progress reports

  • Identify, prepare, submit, and track change proposals and change orders

  • Ensure safe work process is executed with each job and a culture of safety is fostered

  • Ensure completion of reports and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and completeness of work

  • Ensure accurate and timely project invoicing

  • Understand financial health of the project using company provided tools

  • Ultimate responsibility for client service delivery on all projects

Client Relations

  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging the network

  • Present new services and enhance existing relationships

  • Follow up on leads and turn them into profitable opportunities

  • Maintain the CRM activities, opportunities and forecastingPrepare and review proposals for projects with the intent to obtain new and repeat client business

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to develop new work and drive repeat business

Processes & Systems

  • Drive and participate in the improvement of project processes

  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with Operational and Central Services teams (as a partnership) to assist in implementing and executing all Magna practices and processes

People Leadership

  • Provide coaching and development to team members to be a source of talent for Magna IV

Success Measurements

  • Gross Profit Margin

  • Proposal Generation

  • Billing Efficiency & Utilization

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, EE degree or PSE certification

  • NETA (International Electrical Testing Association) certification preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Technologist / Field Technician / Power Systems Electrician preferredRelevant experience in maintenance, repair, rebuild and troubleshooting of transformers, protective relays and circuit breakers preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of the principles behind the test equipment used and well-rounded understanding of power systems

  • Experience in the Installation, commissioning and start-up of power equipment preferred

  • Experience working with automation & control systems in the power and utilities market is an asset

  • Possesses hands-on field experience in commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery      equipment; including breakers, switchgear, relays, and transformers preferred

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Career-minded individual with proven initiative, client focus and attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent time management skills (able to work with minimal supervision)

  • Able to work flexible hours that might include weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Work as a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
