Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Invoicing Specialist in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the successful candidate will be accountable for client invoicing, and various accounting tasks while supporting Operations throughout Canada and the US.
Accountabilities
·Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely preparation, posting, and subsequent delivery of invoices to Clients
Administer electronic invoicing in Client or 3rd party invoicing systems (Cortex, ADP, etc.)
Act as a key liaison for our Clients addressing any invoice issues as identified
Provide support to Credit and Collections specialist with subsequent timely collection of delivered Client invoices
Support in review and identification of WIP/Deferred Revenue adjustments – propose adjustments for accounting team to finalize
Assist the collections team in the monthly review for Accounts Receivable bad-debt and adjust provisions accordingly
Provide support and backup assistance to the Finance Team for various month end accounting tasks
Ensure timely maintenance of Client records in the company’s ERP system (Deltek)
Work cross functionally with Finance, Operations and Central Services to coordinate initiatives and implement related practices and procedures as needed
Complete a range of special projects as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
Superior communication skills both oral and written
3 years of project invoicing/accounting experience
Advanced knowledge of databases and ability to mine and analyze data (Excel, Query, Access)
Intermediate understanding of accounting concepts
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work well in a team environment, developing relationships between multiple organizational areas
Adaptable and willing to change proactively
Ability to travel (Canadian, U.S., International) minimal requirements (less than 5%)
A positive, “can-do”, “sense of urgency” attitude and client (internal and external) focused approach.
