We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Field Services Technician/Technologist/Engineer in Edmonton. Reporting to a Client Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to work with project teams and field projects; ultimately creating superior client experiences through commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.
Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
1. Service Scope
Equipment upgrades as well as maintenance, testing and commissioning services for commercial and industrial projects.
Projects are local to Edmonton and area with minimal out of town work
2. Job Preparation & Planning
Ensure all equipment and materials are available for projects
3. Client Relations
Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner
4. Job Execution
On site, hands-on work, as required
Provide project status updates to Manager
Maintain effective communication with internal and external groups regarding milestone achievements, costs, opportunities, etc.
Escalate awareness of issues and concerns on projects within a timely manner to Manager
Ensure leadership safety excellence is demonstrated onsite
Follow-up on deficiency work
Ensure work is completed as per required scope
Ensure documentation is completed and compiled
5. Reporting
Ensure completion and submission of all documents
Complete technical reviews and generate reports
6. Leadership
Integrate junior employees into projects in a safe manner
Lead, mentor and develop employees
7. Safety
Ensure all safety policies are adhered to at all times
Participate in safety meetings
Required Skills and Qualifications
2+ years experience as an Electrical Technologist / Field Technician / Power System Electrician / Electrical Engineer
Hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers
Experience with installing electrical equipment would be considered a strong asset
Broad knowledge in commercial, industrial and utility environments
Trade or tech school certification required
PSE (Power Systems Electrician), Journeyman Electrician, CET (Certified Engineering Technologist), and/or NETA certification is an asset
Proven experience leading engaged and productive project teams
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to self-manage with proven initiative and client focus
Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment
Excellent time management skills with an attention to detail
The ability to work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the year
Team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
A positive, “can-do” attitude
