We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the successful candidate will be accountable for assisting in delivery of quality, timely, financial information (statements and various reports) in Edmonton.


  • Assist and be responsible for a variety of Monthly, Quarterly, Annual accounting tasks, including

  • Cash Receipts processing in the businesses ERP (Deltek)

  • GST reconciliations and remittances

  • A/P accrual reviews and posting

  • Various JE’s (Amortisation, Prepaids, consumables costing, Service Department cost allocations)

  • Mileage log tracking and entry to ERP

  • Prepare Quarterly and Annual account reconciliations for multiple entities

  • Review quarterly for Accounts Receivable bad-debt and adjust provisions accordingly

  • Inventory accounting entries as required

  • Support timely issuance and subsequent collection of Client/Sublease invoices when/where necessary

  • Support and advise on, new Client credit checks when warranted

  • Work cross functionally with Operations, Toolcrib and Central Services to coordinate initiatives and implement Accounting procedures and practices as needed

  • Complete a range of special projects as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Superior communication skills both oral and written

  • 3 years of Accounting experience – pursuing a designation is preferable

  • Intermediate understanding of accounting concepts ensuring ability to reconcile G/L accounts

  • Knowledge of databases and ability to mine and analyze data (Excel, Query, Access)

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, developing relationships between multiple organizational areas

  • Adaptable and willing to change proactively

  • Ability to travel (Canadian, U.S., International) minimal requirements (less than 5%)

  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and client focused approach
